When [livejournal.com profile] suze2000 and her husband Darren visited The Netherlands last month, we met up for the evening, and these pictures were taken:

They were posted to Darren's Facebook but I'm re-posting them here for safe-keeping; to remind me of an excellent evening spent with two wonderful people who I hope to see again some day (in Australia, perhaps)!

Oops! Seems I've been away from LJ for two whole weeks - how did that happen? Oh Facebook, you've got a lot to answer for!

I think this 100 things to blog about-challenge is a brilliant idea! I'll have to have a think about what topic I can possibly devote 100 entries to...100 Rubbish Ideas I've Had, perhaps?

I had an interview with Verizon Business yesterday, for a position in Sales Channel Management. I think I did well, but won't know for certain until the end of next week when they said they'd let me know, as they still had a few more candidates to interview. Be interesting to see what decision they come to, as the other two both appear to have a background in Sales, but I'm the only one with previous experience in the field of Channel Management.

Earlier in the week, I met up with [livejournal.com profile] suze2000 and her husband Darren in Amsterdam for an evening. They'd expressed an interest in getting acquainted with traditional Dutch cuisine, so I guided them to a small bistro that specialises in just that. Darren showed himself fearless of sampling our jenevers and (liquorice) liqueurs, and suggested we end the night in Wynand Fockink's, a distillery and tasting room dating back to 1679, where we arrived just before closing time and then enjoyed half an hour's worth of a lock-in.

Meanwhile, I'm pleased to report that my face has almost gone back to normal again; obviously I'm now sporting a scar, which is very noticeable to me (mostly because there's some pain and discomfort there), but as long as I keep from smiling too widely, you wouldn't know I'm missing a tooth.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else noteworthy to relate, and so I'll say goodnight.

Had lunch and spent an enjoyable afternoon traipsing through the centre of Amsterdam in the company of the delightful [livejournal.com profile] jonesiexxx and the equally delightful [livejournal.com profile] db2305 yesterday. Though we didn't do much of anything except sit, talk and go for a walk, then sit and talk again, I will remember this outing as one of my personal high points of 2010.

It's Day 14 in the 30 Day Movie Meme, and the topic is favourite film in black and white, and my choice is:

Rumble Fish )

According to Wikipedia, the film was slated by the critics on first release in 1983. It's lucky I don't read reviews, then.

After some frantic e-mail exchanges and several changes of plan, it's finally going to happen: [livejournal.com profile] monanotlisa and [livejournal.com profile] witchsis will be driving down to Utrecht tomorrow night to meet with [livejournal.com profile] db2305 and me, and we will all go to the pictures together! And not just any picture, either, no sirree - we are going to see Serenity, which has at long f*cking last come to a theatre near us!

I've been wanting to see this film for ages, partly because everyone on my flist has been talking and waxing lyrical about it incessantly, and partly because I've always regretted not having had much of a chance to watch Firefly when it was on earlier in the year...or was that last year? There was some talk of us CoRo groupies going to see it in Glasgow last month, but we soon realised that wasn't really an option what with the long trek back down ahead of us -- and then they all went and saw it without me! Biatches!

Too bad I have to work all day, though. I could have done with meeting up and having a natter beforehand.

And in other news, these words from David Tennant's lips made me squee liek woah:

excerpt from DT interview on BBC Doctor Who website, not really spoilery: )
